Are your Companies House filings in good hands? Three questions.

Answer with the buttons, no email needed.

Question 1 of 3

Does your accountant file your confirmation statement without you chasing them?

What you get

Tax investigation cover at no charge

It is included free for every client. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.

Companies House ID verification done for you

When director identity verification came in, plenty of firms charged around £50 a head. We did it free for every existing client, and we still do.

Every filing date mapped a year ahead

Confirmation statement, accounts, corporation tax, VAT and payroll all diarised. You are not the one chasing us.

What owners tell us before they call

Most of these start with a letter from Companies House rather than a question about filings.

  • I got a letter saying the company could be struck off and I had no idea what I had missed.

The confirmation statement was overdue. Late filings sit on the public record where banks and funders look.

  • We brought a second director in back in March and nobody has told Companies House yet.

The register was wrong for months, so the bank mandate and the lender’s checks did not match the filings.

  • My old accountant invoiced me for a ten minute call about moving our registered office.

He stopped ringing, and the next three small questions went unasked until they turned into real problems.

  • What changes once we take it on

We review what is on the public record, fix what is wrong and file what is late. Then every date goes in the diary for the year ahead and we file without asking you to remind us. Calls about a share transfer or a new director cost nothing.

How this compares with keeping the filings in-house

Plenty of directors file their own confirmation statement, and for a simple company that works.

Keeping the filings in-house

You watch the dates yourself

Share and officer changes get filed when someone remembers

The register and the accounts can drift apart

Identity verification is your job to work out

With Supreme Consultants

Every date diarised and filed by us

Changes filed within the time allowed

Register, accounts and corporation tax kept in step

Director ID verification handled at no charge

Eight questions about your company record

A yes means it is covered, and a no is worth ten minutes on the phone.

  • Do you know the month your confirmation statement is due?

Miss it and the company can be struck off the register.

  • Is every current director listed at Companies House?

Lenders and banks check the register before they check your accounts.

  • Have all your directors completed identity verification?

We handle this for our clients at no charge.

  • Does your registered office address still receive post?

HMRC and Companies House letters go to the registered office first.

  • Does your PSC register match who actually owns the shares?

Share transfers often get agreed and never filed.

  • Has a share class or allotment changed since incorporation?

New shares need filing within the time allowed.

  • Are your SIC codes still what the business actually does?

They matter for grant applications and some lending checks.

  • Does one firm handle your filings, accounts and corporation tax?

Split them and the register and the accounts drift apart.

What we did when Companies House changed the rules on directors

Identity verification became compulsory for directors, and a lot of practices treated it as a new billing line. We worked through our whole client list instead.

Clients described by type. Names withheld.

£50 a headwas roughly what other firms were charging clients for director identity verification
How it was found
We went through every company on our books and verified the directors ourselves as the rule came in.
What happened
Every existing client was verified free, and anyone joining us still has it done at no charge.

I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

Who we are not right for

We only take company secretarial and formation work for clients we are acting for as accountants going forward.

We do not act for CIS construction subcontractors.

We do not act for registered charities, though we do a lot of work with community interest companies.

If any of that rules you out, run the check anyway and we will point you somewhere sensible.

Company secretarial services: questions people ask

How much do company secretarial services cost?

It is part of your fixed monthly fee rather than a separate charge. We agree that fee in writing after the introductory chat, once we know your turnover, VAT position, payroll headcount and how tidy the records are. Calls, meetings and emails are never billed on top, so asking about a share transfer costs nothing.

Can you take over the Companies House filings from our current accountant?

Yes. We send the professional clearance letter so you do not have to have that conversation, then get appointed as your agent with HMRC and Companies House. From your side it is mostly saying yes. Switching includes a free handover, free director identity verification, a free first month and free migration to Xero.

What happens if HMRC writes to us or opens a check?

Send the letter straight over and we deal with HMRC for you. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, where other firms sell it as an add-on. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won. The sooner you bring us in, the more we can change how it goes.

Do we have to change our accounting software?

No. Your Companies House filings do not depend on which software you use, so you can stay where you are. If you do want to move to Xero we migrate you free as part of switching, and we set up the bookkeeping so your register, accounts and corporation tax all line up.

Do you offer company secretarial services on their own?

No. We handle filings and formations for clients who are engaging us as their accountants on an ongoing basis. That is deliberate: when the same firm files the confirmation statement, the accounts and the corporation tax return, the public record and your numbers stay in step and nothing falls between two firms.

Why use a Cardiff accountant for this work?

Because the Welsh rules differ and we see them every week. A Spar franchisee came to us still paying full business rates through Covid, because Cardiff Council required an application for retail rates relief and nobody had told him. We spotted it in the first meeting and recovered £10,000. You can also meet us at Titan House.
