Payroll in Bristol, run on time every pay run for a fixed fee
Payroll Bristol employers call us about once the spreadsheet stops coping. New starters, pension letters and an RTI submission due on payday. We run all of it and agree the fee in writing before we start.
Most owners worry less about the payslips and more about the penalty when a submission goes in late, or about an accountant who comes back next week. We reply the same working day. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client.
In one lineSupreme Consultants is an AAT licensed accountancy practice in Cardiff Bay that runs payroll for employers in Bristol and South Wales, covering payslips, RTI submissions and auto-enrolment pensions, on a fixed fee agreed in writing before work starts. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client.
Check we’re the right fit
A few questions about your business. Mudassir replies the same working day.
Thank you Mud, your help and support with my VAT return is greatly appreciated. Always a prompt response and my difficult VAT return was quickly submitted and resolved. Would definitely recommend.
Is your payroll in good hands? Three questions.
Answer with the buttons, no email needed.
Question 1 of 3
Does your accountant reply the same working day when you ask about a new starter?
Do you know your payroll fee will not change this year?
If HMRC wrote tomorrow about your PAYE, would they deal with it at no extra cost?
Three noes means your payroll is running on hope rather than a timetable. Start the check and Mudassir reads your answers the same working day.
Start the checkYou are in a reasonable position, but one of those gaps is the one that costs money when HMRC writes. Start the check and we will tell you straight whether it is worth moving.
Start the checkThree yeses means you are well served and you should stay put. Read the guides if you want to sanity check your pay runs before the next year end.

Tax investigation cover included free
If HMRC opens an enquiry into your business, we deal with it and you do not pay us extra. Other firms sell this as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year.
Payslips out and RTI filed on payday
Staff get paid on the day you told them. The submission to HMRC goes in for that pay run, not a fortnight later.
Ring us on payday and it costs nothing
Calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top. The fee is agreed in writing before any work starts.
What employers tell us before they move their payroll
These are the three things we hear most from Bristol owners on the first call.
“I only hear from my accountant once a year, and payroll goes in whenever they get round to it.”
Late submissions build up penalties that nobody explains until the HMRC statement arrives.
“Every phone call about a new starter ends up on an invoice the following month.”
So owners stop asking, and the pension enrolment gets missed.
“I got an HMRC bill for PAYE and nobody could tell me what it was for.”
The figure sits unpaid while interest runs, because no one has gone through the year line by line.
What changes once we take it on
We take over the pay runs, the pension uploads and the submissions to HMRC. You get a fixed fee agreed before we start and a reply the same working day. When a PAYE letter arrives, you send it to us and we answer it.
Payroll in-house compared with payroll run by us
Plenty of Bristol firms run payroll themselves and do it properly, so here is the honest difference.
Payroll run in-house on a spreadsheet
Someone in the office learns the software on their own time.
RTI submissions depend on one person being in that week.
Auto-enrolment letters and re-enrolment dates are easy to miss.
A PAYE letter from HMRC lands on your desk.
With Supreme Consultants
We run the pay run and send the payslips.
The submission goes to HMRC on the day of the pay run.
We assess staff, send the enrolment letters and upload contributions.
You forward the HMRC letter and we answer it.
Eight questions about your payroll set-up
Answer each one yes or no about how payroll runs in your business today.
Does every pay run have an RTI submission filed on the same day?
Late submissions are what trigger the penalty letters.
Are new starters given a payslip in their first pay run?
Missed starters create corrections that run for months.
Have you sent pension enrolment letters to every eligible member of staff?
The Pensions Regulator expects the letters, not just the contributions.
Do you know your re-enrolment date?
It comes round every three years and it is your job to act on it.
Are wages posted into your bookkeeping each month?
Unposted wages make the year end accounts slower and dearer.
Did every employee get a P60 after the last tax year end?
If not, your year end payroll filings may be incomplete.
Can you explain the last PAYE figure HMRC asked you for?
A figure you cannot explain usually hides an error someone can fix.
Does a call about payroll cost you anything?
With us it does not, because calls, meetings and emails are never charged.

I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

Payroll Bristol: questions people ask
What does payroll in Bristol cost with Supreme Consultants?
You get a fixed fee agreed in writing before any work starts, based on how many people you pay and how often. It does not move during the year, and calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top. We do not publish figures, because the right number depends on your pay runs. Answer the questions on this page and we will put it in writing.
How do I switch payroll from my current accountant?
You answer the questions on this page and we reply the same working day. If we are a fit, we agree the fee, complete your ID checks and write to your current accountant for your payroll records, so you do not have to make that call. HMRC authorises us as your agent and we pick up from your next pay run.
What happens if HMRC writes to me about PAYE?
You send us the letter and we deal with HMRC for you. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, so an enquiry does not come with an extra bill from us. Other firms sell that cover as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.
Do I have to change my payroll or accounting software?
No. We work with what you already use. If you want to move to Xero we do the migration free, and we also did Companies House ID verification free for every client when the rule came in, while many accountants charged around £50 a check. The choice of software stays yours.
Can a Cardiff accountant run payroll for a Bristol business?
Yes. We are based at Titan House in Cardiff Bay and Bristol is our neighbouring market over the bridge. Payroll runs remotely, so you send us the hours and changes and we send the payslips and file with HMRC. You can also come to the office if you would rather sit down with us.
Is there any business you will not run payroll for?
Yes. We do not take on CIS construction subcontractor work, charity accounts, or businesses already late in an HMRC investigation. We would rather say so on the first call than take a fee for work we are not the right firm for. Everything else, from sole traders with one employee to limited companies with twenty, is welcome.
