What this disclaimer covers
Supreme Consultants is the trading name of SUPREME CONSULTANTS LTD, company number 14000780, an AAT licensed accountancy practice based at Titan House in Cardiff Bay. This disclaimer applies to everything we publish: the pages of this website, blog posts and guides, downloadable PDFs, any calculators or tools, and what we post on social media. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your data, and our Terms and Conditions, which cover use of the site.
Everything here is general information
What we publish here is general information written for UK businesses, mostly owner-managed ones in and around Cardiff. It cannot take account of your tax position, how your business is structured, what you have filed before, or what HMRC already holds on your record. Two businesses that look identical on paper often need different answers. If you act on something you read here without speaking to us first, that decision sits with you and so does the outcome. When you want an answer you can rely on for your own situation, book a free introductory chat with Mudassir or Shaista and engage us formally, or take the same question to another qualified accountant.
How current this information is
Tax rules change more often than web pages do.
Accurate when we published it
We research what we publish and it is accurate on the day it goes up, checked against the rules and rates in force at that point. Dates, thresholds and HMRC guidance move after that, and the page stays as written until we revisit it.
Tax law changes every year
UK tax changes with every Budget and often in between, through an Autumn Statement, a Finance Act or a statutory instrument that lands with little warning. Rates, allowances and thresholds quoted in an article can be out of date within months of being written.
We do not promise updates
Treat anything older than twelve months with caution. We update the pages we think matter most, in the order we get to them, and we make no commitment to review every article on a schedule. Check the publication date before you lean on a figure.
Check before you act
If a decision involves money leaving your account, a filing deadline or anything you are submitting to HMRC, confirm the current position first. Call us on 029 2264 0550, email info@supremeconsultants.co.uk, or check the figure against HMRC’s own published guidance on gov.uk.
You are not yet a client
Reading this site, downloading a guide, running a calculator, filling in the contact form or sitting down with us for a free introductory chat does not make you a client of Supreme Consultants. You become a client once we have completed our identity and anti money laundering checks, agreed your fixed fee in writing, and both signed an engagement letter setting out exactly what we are doing for you. Before that point we are not acting for you and we carry no responsibility for decisions you take. Any professional indemnity cover we hold applies to work we are engaged to do, not to material published on this website.
Links to other websites
We link out to HMRC, Companies House, gov.uk, software providers such as Xero and occasionally to articles other people have written. Those sites belong to other organisations, and we have no control over what appears on them, how accurate it is, or whether the page still exists next month. A link is there because we thought it would be useful on the day we added it, and it carries no endorsement of that organisation’s products, services or advice. If you follow a link, you are dealing with that organisation on their terms, including their privacy terms.
Calculators give indicative figures only
If there is a calculator or estimating tool on this site, it gives you a rough figure and nothing more. It works from the handful of numbers you type in, so it knows nothing about your other income, your payments on account, reliefs you qualify for, losses carried forward or anything else sitting in your HMRC record. Please don’t use the output to file a return, set a dividend or commit to a payment. Proper calculations for your own position are part of the work we do once you have engaged us.
What we are responsible for
This section is about content we publish on this website. Work we are engaged to do for you is covered by your engagement letter.
If we are already acting for you, the engagement letter you signed sets out what we are responsible for, and it takes precedence over anything on this page. What follows deals only with the position of someone reading the website or using material we have published on it.
What we do not limit
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under the law of England and Wales. Those protections stay with you whatever this page says.
What we do limit
So far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss you suffer by relying on website content on its own. That covers tax decisions, business decisions, a deadline you miss, a penalty HMRC charges you, lost profit, and time spent putting something right. The material here is background reading, and it stops short of being advice for your circumstances.
When to engage us properly
If you have a real situation and you need an answer you can act on, book a free introductory chat. We will be straight with you about whether we are the right fit, agree a fixed fee in writing before any work starts, and set out the scope in an engagement letter. From that point our responsibilities to you are governed by that letter rather than by this page.
Copyright and use of content
The words, guides and images on this site belong to SUPREME CONSULTANTS LTD or are used with the owner’s permission. You are welcome to read them, print a copy for your own use, and share a link or a short quote as long as you credit us and link back. Reproducing our material commercially needs our written permission first. Our Terms and Conditions set out the full position.
Changes to this disclaimer
We update this disclaimer when the site changes or the law does, and the last reviewed date at the top tells you when that last happened. If you carry on using the website after a change, you are accepting the version published at the time.
Questions about this disclaimer
If something here is unclear, ask us.
Email us and put Disclaimer in the subject line so it reaches Mudassir rather than sitting in the general inbox. If it is easier to talk it through, call the office on 029 2264 0550 between 9am and 5pm.
