Accountants for youth organisations in South Wales, with grant reports filed on time
Accountants for youth organisations get asked for things other clients never see: a spend report by Friday, a budget for the next bid, accounts ready before the grant deadline closes.
Most youth projects run on sessional staff and volunteers, and the finance lands on whoever has an evening free. We write the funder reports, prepare the CIC accounts and the community interest report, and tax investigation cover is included free for every client.
In one lineSupreme Consultants is an AAT licensed accountancy practice in Cardiff Bay that acts for youth organisations and community interest companies across South Wales. It prepares CIC accounts, the community interest report and the spend, budget and forecast reports funders ask for, on a fixed fee agreed before work starts, with tax investigation cover included.
Check we’re the right fit
A few questions about your business. Mudassir replies the same working day.
Thank you Mud, your help and support with my VAT return is greatly appreciated. Always a prompt response and my difficult VAT return was quickly submitted and resolved. Would definitely recommend.
Is your youth organisation’s finance in good hands? Three questions.
Answer with the buttons, there is no email to leave.
Question 1 of 3
Does your accountant reply the same working day?
Do you know your fee for the year will not move?
If HMRC wrote tomorrow, would they deal with it at no extra cost?
Three noes means the finance is being done around your accountant rather than by them. Start the check and Mudassir reads your answers and replies the same working day.
Start the checkYou are in a reasonable position, but one of those gaps shows up at the worst time, usually the week a funder report is due. Worth a conversation before your next grant deadline.
Start the checkYou are well served and you should stay where you are. Read the guides if you want to see how we handle CIC accounts and funder reporting.

Tax investigation cover included free
If HMRC opens an enquiry, we deal with it and you pay us nothing extra. Other firms sell this as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year, and every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.
The report your funder asks for
Quarterly and six-monthly spend against budget, plus the forecast. We write them, so your project lead can get back to the young people.
A fee you can put in the bid
A fixed fee agreed in writing before we start. Calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top.
What directors of youth organisations tell us
These are the three things we hear most in a first conversation.
“Our funder wants a quarterly spend report and nobody here can produce it.”
The report went in late and the funder asked for monthly updates instead. That is a volunteer evening gone every month.
“We need the accounts early for the next grant deadline and our accountant files in the last week.”
The bid went in with last year’s figures. The panel asked why, and nobody had an answer ready.
“I am not sure our restricted grant income is shown correctly in the accounts.”
Restricted funds read as free reserves, so the next funder questioned whether the money was needed at all.
What changes once we take it on
We map every deadline for the year: CIC accounts, the community interest report, payroll and VAT if it applies. Funder reports are drafted to the dates in your grant agreement, not after a reminder. You ring us when a bid question comes in, and it costs nothing.
How this differs from a general accountant
Plenty of firms file CIC accounts properly and never touch the funder side.
A general accountant filing your accounts
Accounts filed close to the deadline
Funder reports left with the directors
A call or an email can appear on the invoice
Investigation cover sold as an add-on
With Supreme Consultants
Accounts ready early for the next bid
Spend, budget and forecast reports written for you
Calls, meetings and emails are never charged
Tax investigation cover included free
Eight questions about your current set-up
Answer these the way things stand today, not the way you intend them to be.
Can you produce last quarter’s spend against budget today?
Funders ask for it at short notice and expect it within days.
Do your accounts show restricted grant income separately?
If they do not, your reserves look larger than they are.
Is your community interest report drafted before the filing date?
It is filed with the CIC accounts and the Regulator reads it.
Does your funder get the report on the day they ask?
Late reports lead to tighter conditions on the next payment.
Will your accounts be ready before your next bid deadline?
Panels notice when figures are a year out of date.
Are calls with your accountant free?
If a ten-minute question costs money, people stop asking.
Is payroll for sessional youth workers filed on time each month?
RTI penalties come out of money meant for the project.
Would someone deal with HMRC for you at no extra cost?
With us, tax investigation cover is included free for every client.

- How it was found
- Funders set reporting dates in the grant agreement and the organisation has no one to pull the figures together.

Reviews from clients
Thank you Mud, your help and support with my VAT return is greatly appreciated. Always a prompt response and my difficult VAT return was quickly submitted and resolved. Would definitely recommend.
I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!
Friendly, nice 👌 , helpful and great all around
Difficult to describe as there are too many words that can be expressed for a wonderful accountant and their firm.
Definitely 🔝 and highly recommended in Wales 🏴 and throughout the UK for Accountancy and Tax Services

Getting started
Four steps from your first answers to knowing where the organisation stands.
- Before you join
Your fee agreed in writing
You answer a few questions on the site and Mudassir replies the same working day. If we are a fit, we agree your fixed fee before any work starts.
- Week one
Records moved across for you
We complete your ID checks and write to your current accountant for the records. HMRC and Companies House authorise us as your agent.
- First month
Every deadline on one list
We go through past accounts, returns and HMRC records, including penalties worth appealing. We map the filing and funder reporting dates for the year ahead.
- By ninety days
Reporting running without reminders
We sit down with the directors on the bookkeeping set-up and how the grants are recorded. You know what is coming up and who to call.
Who we are not right for
We do not do charity accounts, so a youth organisation registered as a charity should use a charity specialist.
We do not take on CIS construction subcontractors.
We cannot help a business already late in an HMRC investigation.
If you are a CIC, a company limited by guarantee or a trading youth project, start the check and we will tell you straight.
Accountants for youth organisations: questions people ask
What do accountants for youth organisations charge?
We work on a fixed fee agreed in writing before any work starts, so you can put a figure in your budget and your next bid. It covers the work we list for you, and calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top. We do not publish prices for CIC work because the reporting a funder wants varies.
Can we switch to you from our current accountant?
Yes. We write to your current accountant for the records, so no one at your organisation has to make that call. We complete the ID checks, get authorised as your agent with HMRC and Companies House, and pick up the deadlines. The handover and the first month carry no separate charge.
What happens if HMRC writes to our youth organisation?
Send us the letter and we answer it. We explain what it means in plain English, deal with HMRC directly and keep your directors informed. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, where other firms sell it as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.
Do we have to change our accounting software?
No. We work with the cloud software you already use and keep the records up to date in it. If you want to move to Xero, the migration is free for clients. We will tell you honestly if your current set-up is making the grant reporting harder than it needs to be.
Do you work with youth organisations that are charities?
No. We do not prepare charity accounts, so a registered charity needs a firm that specialises in them. We act for community interest companies, companies limited by guarantee that trade, and other grant-funded organisations across South Wales. If you are unsure which you are, answer the questions on this page and we will tell you.
Can you produce the reports our funder asks for?
Yes. We write quarterly and six-monthly spend against budget and forecast reports for more than ten community interest companies around Cardiff. We work to the dates in your grant agreement and have the accounts ready early for the next deadline. We can also introduce you to a fundraising consultant who helps find the next grant.
