Is your limited company in good hands? Three questions.

Answer with the buttons and you get a straight read, with no email needed.

Question 1 of 3

Does your accountant reply the same working day?

What you get

Tax investigation cover included free

If HMRC opens an enquiry into your company, we deal with it and you pay us nothing extra. Other firms sell this as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year.

A fee you know before we start

We agree it in writing, and calls, meetings and emails are never billed on top. Ring us about a supplier invoice and it costs nothing.

Every company deadline mapped

Accounts, corporation tax, VAT returns and payroll sit on one timetable we keep. You know what is due and when.

What Barry directors tell us when they call

Three things we hear most from limited company owners in Barry.

  • “I only hear from my accountant once a year, and that is when the accounts are already late.”

Late filing brings a Companies House penalty that grows the longer it sits. We map the dates in your first month.

  • “Every phone call ends up on the invoice, so I stopped ringing him.”

Decisions get made without advice, usually on how the director is paid. That costs more than the call would have.

  • “I got a corporation tax bill and nobody explained where the figure came from.”

One client owed about £20,000 across several taxes and did not know what any of it was for.

  • What changes once we take it on

We go through your past accounts, returns and HMRC records in the first month. Unclaimed reliefs, payments on account set too high and penalties worth appealing turn up there. After that you get a mapped year and a number to ring.

The usual arrangement and ours, side by side

Plenty of accountants do good work; the difference is how you are charged and how fast you hear back.

A typical year-end only arrangement

Accounts prepared months after the year end.

Calls and emails billed on top.

Investigation cover sold as a yearly add-on.

The fee arrives with the accounts.

With Supreme Consultants

Deadlines mapped for the whole year.

Calls, meetings and emails are never charged.

Tax investigation cover included free.

The fee is agreed in writing first.

Eight questions about how your company is run

Answer these before your next filing date.

  • Do you know your accounts filing date without looking it up?

Missing it brings an automatic Companies House penalty.

  • Is your bookkeeping up to date this month?

Year-end work costs more time when the records start cold.

  • Has anyone reviewed your salary and dividend split this year?

The right split changes as profits change.

  • Do you know what your corporation tax bill will be?

You should have a figure months before it is due.

  • Are your VAT returns filed under Making Tax Digital records?

HMRC expects digital records behind every return.

  • Is your payroll running with pensions and RTI submitted on time?

Late RTI submissions attract their own penalties.

  • Have your Companies House ID verifications been done?

We did these free for every client when the rule came in, while many firms charged around £50 a check.

  • If HMRC opened an enquiry, would someone handle it for you?

We deal with HMRC for our clients at no extra cost.

From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

We cannot take on a business already late in an HMRC investigation.

Limited company accountants Barry: questions people ask

How much do limited company accountants in Barry charge?

We quote a fixed fee in writing before any work starts, based on what your company actually needs: the bookkeeping volume, whether you are VAT registered, how many people are on payroll and whether you want management accounts. The fee does not move during the year, and calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top.

Can I switch to you if my company already has an accountant?

Yes. We write to your current accountant for your records, so you do not have to make that call. We complete your ID checks, get authorised as your agent with HMRC and Companies House, and pick up the year where it stands. The handover and the first month carry no separate charge.

What happens if HMRC writes to my limited company?

Send us the letter and we deal with HMRC for you. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, so an enquiry does not produce an extra bill from us. Every HMRC investigation this practice has handled, it has won. We cannot take on a business that is already late in an investigation when it approaches us.

Do I have to change my accounting software?

No. We work with the cloud software you already use. If you want to move to Xero we do the migration free, and we will tell you plainly if your current set-up is fine as it is. The point is that the records are kept up to date, whichever system holds them.

Do you meet limited company directors from Barry in person?

Yes. We are based at Titan House in Cardiff Bay, a short drive from Barry, and clients come to us there. Most work is done remotely, and plenty of directors mix the two. You can also call 029 2264 0550 or email us between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

What does a limited company have to file each year?

Annual accounts and a confirmation statement go to Companies House, and a corporation tax return goes to HMRC with the tax payment. VAT returns are usually quarterly, payroll is reported to HMRC every pay run, and directors often need a Self Assessment return. We map all of those dates in your first month.
