Is your small business in good hands? Three questions.

Answer with the buttons, there is no email to give.

Question 1 of 3

Does your accountant reply the same working day?

What you get

Tax investigation cover included free

If HMRC opens an enquiry into your business, we deal with it and the cover costs you nothing. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.

A fee you know before we start

We agree it in writing after the first chat. Calls, meetings and emails are never added to it.

Every deadline mapped for the year

VAT, payroll, accounts, corporation tax and your self assessment all go in the diary ahead of time. You are not the one chasing us.

What Cardiff owners tell us when they first call

Three things come up again and again in the first ten minutes.

  • “I sent my accountant the HMRC letter nine days ago and I still have not had a reply.”

The deadline on the letter ran down while he waited, and the penalty was avoidable.

  • “Every time I ring with a quick question there is a line for it on the next invoice.”

So he stopped ringing, and a VAT registration date went wrong for a year.

  • “I found out I had been overpaying for two years and nobody had ever mentioned it.”

The money was recoverable, but only because somebody finally looked at the whole picture.

  • What changes once we take it on

You get a named person who answers the same working day and a fee that does not move. We review your past returns and HMRC records in the first month and tell you what we find. After that the filings happen on time without you asking.

How this compares with your current arrangement

Plenty of Cardiff firms do solid compliance work. The difference is in access and billing.

A typical high street arrangement

Accounts filed correctly, once a year.

Replies in a few days when the team is busy.

Time charged for longer calls and meetings.

Investigation cover sold as a yearly add-on.

With Supreme Consultants

Accounts, VAT, payroll and tax in one place.

A reply the same working day, every working day.

Calls, meetings and emails never billed.

Investigation cover included free for every client.

Eight questions about how your books are run

Answer these honestly before your next filing date.

  • Do you know every filing date for the next twelve months?

If the dates live in your head, something eventually slips.

  • Was your fee agreed in writing before the work started?

An agreed fee means no invoice you have to query later.

  • Can you ring your accountant without it costing you?

Small questions asked early are where most of the money gets saved.

  • Are your bank feeds and receipts up to date this month?

Records more than a month behind make the VAT return a guess.

  • Do you know what your business made in the last quarter?

Management figures let you decide on a second site or a new hire.

  • Has anyone checked your payments on account this year?

They are often set higher than your actual liability needs.

  • Are you claiming every relief available to a Welsh business?

Some Cardiff reliefs only apply if somebody makes the application.

  • Would somebody handle an HMRC letter for you at no extra cost?

Our cover is included free, so the answer with us is yes.

I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

How switching to us works

Most of it happens on our side, and you say yes twice.

  1. Before you join

    A free introductory chat

Tell us where things stand. If we cannot genuinely help, we will say so.

  2. Week one

    Fee agreed and records requested

We do your ID checks, confirm your fixed fee in writing and write to your current accountant for the handover. You avoid that conversation.

  3. First month

A proper look at your history

We go through past accounts, returns and HMRC records. This is where missed reliefs, payments on account set too high and appealable penalties turn up.

  4. By ninety days

    A plan for paying yourself

We talk through salary, dividends or a mix so you keep as much as possible and stay compliant, and we tidy the bookkeeping setup.

Who we are not right for

We do not take on CIS construction subcontractors.

We do not act for charities.

We cannot help a business that is already well into an HMRC investigation.

If none of those describe you, start the check and we will tell you what we would do first.

Small business accountants in Cardiff: questions people ask

How much do small business accountants in Cardiff charge?

We work on a fixed monthly fee agreed in writing before we start, and it covers the relationship as well as the work, so calls, meetings and emails are never billed. The figure depends on turnover, whether you are VAT registered, transaction volume, payroll headcount and how tidy your records are. We quote after the introductory chat.

How do I switch from my current accountant?

You tell us to go ahead and we do the rest. We send the professional clearance letter so your existing accountant hands your records over directly, and you never have to make that call yourself. We then get authorised as your agent with HMRC and Companies House, handle director ID verification where it is needed, and migrate you to Xero free if you want it.

What happens if HMRC writes to me or opens a check?

Send us the letter and we take it from there, including the correspondence and any meetings. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client we act for, so there is no separate policy to buy and no extra bill when a letter lands. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.

Do I have to change my accounting software?

No. We work with what you already use, whether that is a spreadsheet, a shoebox of receipts or an existing cloud package. If you would rather move to Xero we will migrate you free as part of joining, and we will set up the bank feeds and chart of accounts so the first VAT quarter runs cleanly.

Do you work with sole traders as well as limited companies?

Yes. We act for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and community interest companies across Cardiff and South Wales, on the same fixed monthly basis. One thing to note: we do not take on one-off self assessment or capital gains returns, so this suits owners who want their accounts looked after through the year rather than a return typed up each January.

Where are your small business accountants in Cardiff based?

We are at T206 Titan House, Cardiff Bay Business Centre, Titan Road, Cardiff, CF24 5BS, open Monday to Friday, nine to five. You can meet us there, work with us entirely remotely, or mix the two. We also act for owners in Newport, Swansea, Caerphilly, Port Talbot, Barry and Bristol.
