Bookkeeping in Swansea, kept up to date for a fixed fee
Bookkeeping Swansea owners bring us is usually a quarter behind, with the bank feed unreconciled, receipts in a carrier bag and a VAT return due in a fortnight.
Most people leave it because the last quote moved once the work started. We agree a fixed fee in writing before we begin, and calls, meetings and emails are never billed. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, and every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.
In one lineSupreme Consultants is an AAT registered accountancy practice in Cardiff Bay that keeps the books for Swansea businesses on a fixed monthly fee agreed in advance. The work covers bank reconciliation, receipts, VAT-ready records and year-end handover, with tax investigation cover included free for every client.
Check we’re the right fit
A few questions about your business. Mudassir replies the same working day.
Thank you Mud, your help and support with my VAT return is greatly appreciated. Always a prompt response and my difficult VAT return was quickly submitted and resolved. Would definitely recommend.
Is your bookkeeping in good hands? Three questions.
Answer by button, no email needed.
Question 1 of 3
Does your accountant reply the same working day?
Do you know your fee will not change this year?
If HMRC wrote tomorrow, would they deal with it at no extra cost?
You are carrying the risk and the admin yourself, and that usually shows up at the VAT deadline. The check takes a couple of minutes and tells you what we would pick up first.
Start the checkThe basics are in place, so you are in a reasonable position. There is one gap worth a short conversation before your next quarter end.
Start the checkYou are well served and there is no reason to move. The guides are there if you want to sense-check anything yourself.

Tax investigation cover at no extra charge
Every client has it, and we cover it ourselves. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.
Books ready before the VAT quarter ends
Bank reconciled and receipts filed each month, so the return is a check rather than a weekend of sorting paper.
Ring us without getting an invoice
Calls, meetings and emails are never charged for. Ring when the till roll does not add up and it costs nothing.
What Swansea owners tell us when they call
These are the three things we hear most often in a first conversation.
“I’ve got three months of receipts in a box and the VAT return is due a week on Friday.”
The return went in on estimates, and the correction later cost more than doing it properly.
“My accountant does the books once a year, so I never know what the business actually made.”
He took a second shop on numbers that were nine months old and found the margin was thinner than he thought.
“I emailed about a bill from HMRC two weeks ago and I’m still waiting to hear back.”
The payment deadline passed while he waited, and interest was added to a bill nobody had explained.
What changes once we take it on
Your bank feed is reconciled monthly and your receipts are matched as they come in. You see where the business stands before the VAT return is due, not after. When something looks wrong, you ring and ask, and that call is part of the fee.
Two ways Swansea businesses get their books done
Both are common, and the difference shows up at the quarter end.
A bookkeeper who writes up the year at year end
Records touched once, months after the event
Questions answered when there is time
Extra work billed when it appears
HMRC letters handed back to you

Eight questions about how your books are kept
A yes means it is already covered.
Is your bank account reconciled every month?
Monthly reconciliation is what makes a VAT return quick.
Can you see last month’s profit today?
Current numbers are what you need before you sign a lease or hire.
Are purchase receipts matched to the payments?
Unmatched spend is where VAT gets reclaimed wrongly or missed.
Do you know your fee for the year ahead?
We agree a fixed fee in writing before any work starts.
Does a phone call ever appear on your invoice?
Calls, meetings and emails are never charged for here.
Would someone answer an HMRC letter for you?
We deal with the correspondence, and cover is included free.
Is your VAT return built from the books, rather than estimates?
Estimated returns cost more to correct than to do properly.
Does anyone chase you for your paperwork?
We ask for what is missing rather than waiting for year end.

What going through the costs line by line found for one retailer
A convenience store franchisee in South Wales came to us with his books behind and his costs never questioned. He had paid full business rates right through Covid.
Clients described by type. Names withheld.
- How it was found
- We spotted it in the first meeting while going through his cost lines.
- What happened
- Cardiff Council required an application for retail rates relief and nobody had told him, so the money came back to the business.

I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

Bookkeeping in Swansea: questions people ask
How much does bookkeeping in Swansea cost?
We work on a fixed monthly fee, agreed in writing before any work starts. It depends on your turnover, whether you are VAT registered, how many transactions go through the bank and the state of the records we are picking up. We quote after the introductory chat. Calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top.
How do I switch from my current accountant or bookkeeper?
Switching asks very little of you. We complete your ID checks, agree the fee, then write to your current accountant for professional clearance and your records, so you avoid that conversation. We get appointed as your agent with HMRC and Companies House, handle Companies House ID verification where it is needed, and migrate you to Xero free.
What happens if HMRC writes to me or checks my VAT?
Send us the letter the day it arrives. We answer HMRC, pull together what they have asked for and handle the correspondence from there. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, and every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won. Nobody can promise an outcome in advance, so we will always tell you plainly where you stand.
Do I have to change accounting software?
You can keep what you use now. We work with your existing system, and if your records are spreadsheets and a box of receipts we will still take them on. If you would rather move to Xero, migration is free and we set up the bank feeds and coding rules so each month takes minutes.
Do you do bookkeeping for Swansea businesses remotely or in person?
Both. We are based at Titan House in Cardiff Bay and look after more than 100 clients, over 90% of them across South Wales including Swansea. Most of the work runs remotely through Xero and email, and we meet in person when it helps, such as the first review of your records.
What do you need from me each month?
Your bank feed, your sales records and your purchase receipts. We chase anything missing rather than waiting until year end, and we tell you what is outstanding before the VAT deadline. When a transaction does not make sense, we ask you about it that week instead of guessing at it nine months later.
