Cookies Policy

This page sets out the cookies and similar technologies on the Supreme Consultants website, what each one is for, and which ones only run if you agree to them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle personal data more generally. If anything here is unclear, email info@supremeconsultants.co.uk and we will explain it.

What this cookies policy covers

SUPREME CONSULTANTS LTD (company number 14000780) runs this website from Titan House in Cardiff Bay. This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use here, what each one does, and when we need your consent before setting it. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers what we do with personal data more broadly. We write it to meet the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and the UK GDPR, and we keep it current as the tools on the site change.

What cookies actually are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your phone, tablet or computer. Next time you load a page, the site can read that file. Cookies hold things like a session reference that keeps a form working, a record of the cookie choices you made, or a code that counts your visit for statistics. First-party cookies are set by this website. Third-party cookies come from other companies whose services run on our pages, such as a booking calendar or an analytics tool, and those companies can read their own cookies. Some disappear when you close the browser, others sit on your device for months.

UK rules are stricter than many sites behave as though they are. Only the cookies this site cannot run without are set automatically; everything else waits until you say yes.

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, we can set strictly necessary cookies the moment you arrive, because the site would fail without them. Every other cookie, analytics included, needs your specific permission first, given by choosing it on the cookie banner. A pre-ticked box is not permission, and carrying on browsing is not permission either. You can change your mind whenever you like.

Strictly necessary cookies need no consent

These keep the site standing up: holding your session while you fill in a form, protecting pages against automated abuse, keeping traffic balanced across servers, and storing the cookie choices you made so the banner stops asking. They are set as soon as you arrive.

Everything else waits for your consent

Functional, analytics and advertising cookies only run once you have selected them on the banner and saved your choice. Each category is a separate decision, so you can accept one and refuse another. Until you choose, they stay switched off.

You can withdraw consent at any time

Use the manage cookies link in the footer to reopen the banner, see what is currently switched on, and turn anything off. The change takes effect from the next page load. Clearing cookies in your browser also resets your choices.

The cookies we use

We group them into four kinds.

CategoryPurposeNote
Strictly necessary cookiesThese run the basics: keeping your session alive while you complete the contact or booking form, guarding against automated abuse, keeping pages loading from the right server, and storing the cookie preferences you set so the banner stays away on every later page.No consent required. These are essential for the site to work.
Functional cookiesThese remember the choices you make so the site behaves the way you left it, such as a display setting or a form part-filled so you can pick it up again. They make things easier, and every page still loads without them.Set only with your consent. Withdraw it at any time via manage cookies.
Analytics cookiesThese count visits and tell us which pages people read, how long they stay and where they arrived from, so we can see which guides are worth writing more of. The reporting we see is aggregated. Our analytics provider is [to be confirmed].Set only with your consent. The site works the same if you decline.
Marketing cookiesThese would follow a visit across other websites to show our adverts and measure which ones led to an enquiry. We run no advertising or retargeting cookies on this site at present. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before anything is set.None in use. Nothing would be set without your explicit consent.

Cookies set by other companies

Some cookies on these pages come from services we plug in, such as the appointment booking embed and any analytics tool we switch on. Those companies set and read their own cookies under their own privacy policies, and it is worth reading them if you want the detail on retention and transfers. Refusing a category on our banner blocks those cookies here. The same company may still set cookies when you visit other websites, so your browser settings are the place to deal with that.

How to manage your cookies

There are two places to change what runs.

You can control cookies on this site through our consent banner, and you can control them across every website you visit through your browser settings. The two work together, and whatever you set in the browser wins.

Via this website

Open the manage cookies link in the footer. The banner reopens showing each category with its current setting, and you can switch analytics or anything else off and save. Your choice applies from the next page load, and we keep a record of it so the banner stops asking.

Via your browser

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies for all sites. In Chrome, go to Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies. Firefox keeps it under Settings, then Privacy and Security. Safari has it under Settings or Preferences, then Privacy. Edge puts it under Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.

What blocking actually does

Block the strictly necessary cookies and parts of the site stop working, the booking form included. Turn off analytics or functional cookies and every page still loads and every form still sends, we simply see less about how the site is used.

Other tracking we use

Cookies are one method among several. Local storage and session storage hold small amounts of data in your browser in much the same way. Pixel tags inside an embedded service can register that a page loaded. Our web server keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. Where any of these do the job of a non-essential cookie, we treat them the same way and ask for your consent first.

Children and this website

This site is built for business owners and the people who look after their finances. We aim none of it at children, and we do not knowingly collect information through cookies from anyone under 18. If you think we have, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the tools on the site change or the rules do, and the date at the top moves with it. A material change, such as a new category of cookie, triggers a fresh consent request on the banner. Wording tidy-ups do not. We have the text checked by a compliance professional before material changes go live.
