Is your accountant doing the job? Three questions.

Answer with the buttons and we will tell you where you stand.

Question 1 of 3

Does your accountant reply the same working day?

What you get

Tax investigation cover at no extra cost

We cover it ourselves for every client rather than selling it as an add-on. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.

A reply the same working day

Ring us when the VAT return looks wrong and it costs nothing. If the answer needs longer, we still come back that day to say when.

A fee you agree before we start

One fixed monthly fee in writing, covering the work and the calls. You never weigh up whether a question is worth the invoice.

What Swansea owners tell us when they first call

Three things we hear most from owner-managed businesses across Swansea.

  • I emailed my accountant about an HMRC letter nine days ago and I still have not heard back.

The deadline on the letter passed while he waited, and a penalty followed.

  • There is a carrier bag of receipts behind the till and the VAT return is due on Friday.

The return went in on estimates, and the correction cost more than the bookkeeping would have.

  • I got an invoice for a ten minute phone call, so now I just do not ring.

A year of unasked questions, including the rates relief nobody applied for.

  • What changes once we take it on

Every deadline for the year is diarised and we chase them, not you. The bookkeeping is kept current so the VAT return is a check rather than a scramble. When HMRC writes, you forward it to us and we answer it.

How this compares with the usual arrangement

Plenty of firms do solid work; the difference is in how you reach them and what it costs.

A typical local accountant

Billed by the hour for calls and emails

Investigation cover sold as a yearly add-on

Contact mainly at year end

You chase the deadlines

With Supreme Consultants

Calls, meetings and emails never charged for

Investigation cover included free for every client

Same working day reply, all year

Every deadline mapped and tracked by us

Eight questions about how your books are run

Answer yes or no for each one and see where the gaps sit.

  • Is your bookkeeping up to date this month?

Current records mean the VAT return is a check rather than a rebuild.

  • Do you know every filing date for the next twelve months?

We diarise VAT, payroll, accounts, corporation tax and self assessment for the year ahead.

  • Has anyone reviewed your payments on account recently?

They are often set too high and can be reduced with early filing.

  • Would you ring your accountant with a two minute question?

If the answer is no, you are sitting on the questions that save money.

  • Is your payroll filed on time every month?

Late RTI submissions attract penalties that build quietly.

  • Do you know what your accountant will charge you next quarter?

A fixed fee agreed before we start removes the question entirely.

  • Are your Companies House filings and director details current?

We handle ID verification and the housekeeping for clients we look after.

  • Do you have cover if HMRC opens an investigation?

Ours is included free for every client.

What our clients get when HMRC opens an investigation

A retail client came to us still paying full business rates through Covid because Cardiff Council required an application nobody had made. We spotted it in the first meeting.

Clients described by type. Names withheld.

£10,000recovered in overpaid business rates for a retail franchisee
How it was found
We read his rates position in the introductory chat before any work had started.
What happened
He got the money back, and he now rings us with the small questions instead of sitting on them.

I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

How switching to us works

Most of it happens without you doing anything beyond saying yes.

  1. Before you join

    A straight answer on fit

Book a free chat and tell us where things stand. If we cannot genuinely help, we will say so.

  2. Week one

    Fee agreed and handover done

We complete your ID checks, put the fixed fee in writing, and write to your current accountant for your records. You avoid that conversation.

  3. First month

    Your past filings reviewed

We go through your accounts, returns and HMRC record. This is where we find missed reliefs, payments on account set too high and penalties that can be appealed.

  4. By ninety days

A plan for how you pay yourself

We talk through salary and dividends so you keep as much as possible while staying compliant, and we tidy the bookkeeping setup.

Who we are not right for

We do not take on CIS construction subcontractors.

We do not act for charities.

We do not take on businesses already late into an HMRC investigation.

If none of those describe you, run the check and we will tell you what we would cover.

Accountants in Swansea: questions people ask

How much do accountants in Swansea charge?

We work on one fixed monthly fee agreed in writing before any work starts, and it covers the calls, meetings and emails as well as the filings. What sits behind the figure is your turnover, VAT registration, transaction volume, payroll headcount and how tidy the records are. We quote after the introductory chat rather than guess at it.

How do I switch from my current accountant?

You tell us to go ahead and we do the rest. We write the professional clearance letter so your current accountant hands your records to us directly, we get authorised as your agent with HMRC and Companies House, and we handle Companies House ID verification at no charge where it is required. The handover and the first month are free.

What happens if HMRC writes to me or opens a check?

You forward the letter to us and we deal with HMRC directly, including the correspondence and any meetings. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, because we cover it ourselves rather than selling it as an add-on. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won. Bring us in early and there is more we can change.

Do I have to change accounting software?

No. We work with the system you already use, and if the records are on paper or in a spreadsheet we will take them as they are. If you do want to move to Xero, the migration is free and we set it up for you. The decision is yours and it is not a condition of working with us.

Do you have an office in Swansea?

Our office is T206 Titan House, Cardiff Bay Business Centre, Titan Road, Cardiff, CF24 5BS. We work with Swansea businesses remotely and in person, so we come to you or meet at Titan House, whichever suits. Over 90 per cent of our clients are across South Wales and most of the year-round contact happens by phone and email anyway.

What sort of Swansea businesses do you work with?

Mostly owner-managed limited companies that want VAT, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts and corporation tax in one place. We also act for sole traders, partnerships and individuals, with depth in community interest companies, property and landlords, hospitality, e-commerce and retail, contractors and freelancers, healthcare and locums, and professional services.
