Is your small business in good hands? Three questions.

Three questions about your current set-up, answered with a button.

Question 1 of 3

Does your accountant reply the same working day?

What you get

Tax investigation cover included free

If HMRC opens an enquiry we deal with it and you pay us nothing extra. Other firms sell the same thing as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year.

A fixed fee, and calls cost nothing

The fee is agreed in writing before we start. Ring us when the VAT return does not add up and nothing lands on an invoice.

The Welsh reliefs you have to apply for

Wales has rules accountants outside the country miss. We found a Spar franchise owner £10,000 of business rates relief in a first meeting, because the council only gave it to businesses that applied.

What Swansea owners tell us when they first ring

These are the three things we hear most often on a first call.

  • “I only hear from my accountant once a year, and then it is to ask for the bank statements.”

By the time the accounts land, the year is gone and nothing can be changed.

  • “Every phone call ends up on an invoice, so I stopped ringing and guessed instead.”

The guess usually costs more than the call would have.

  • “I got an HMRC bill nobody explained and I still do not know what it is for.”

Owners pay bills they do not owe because no one went through the figures with them.

  • What changes once we take it on

Every deadline for the year is mapped in your first month. You can ring us about the VAT quarter or a letter from HMRC and it costs nothing. If an enquiry lands, we answer it.

How we differ from the usual arrangement

Plenty of firms do good work; the difference is in the fee and the phone.

A typical high street firm

You get a reply when someone has time.

The bill reflects the hours, calls included.

Investigation cover is sold as an add-on.

You hear from them near the filing deadline.

With Supreme Consultants

A reply the same working day, or we say when.

A fixed fee agreed in writing before we start.

Tax investigation cover included free for every client.

Every deadline mapped in your first month.

Eight questions about how your business is run now

Answer each one yes or no and see where the gaps sit.

  • Do you know today what your accountant will charge you this year?

If the number moves with the hours, you cannot plan around it.

  • Did anyone answer your last email the same working day?

A week of silence usually means a missed decision.

  • Is your bookkeeping up to date to the end of last month?

Current records are the only way to see the VAT coming.

  • Do you know the date your next VAT return is due?

Late filing brings penalties that are easier to avoid than appeal.

  • Has anyone explained your last HMRC bill line by line?

Owners pay estimated balances they do not actually owe.

  • Would your accountant handle an HMRC enquiry at no extra cost?

Most firms charge for that separately.

  • Has anyone checked how you pay yourself this year?

Salary and dividend splits need looking at before the year ends.

  • Are you claiming the Welsh reliefs you have to apply for?

Some reliefs in Wales are only given to businesses that ask.

I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

Small business accountants Swansea: questions people ask

What do small business accountants in Swansea charge?

We work on a fixed fee agreed in writing before any work starts, so the number does not move with the hours. Calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top. The fee depends on what you need, so we ask a few questions first and give you the figure before you commit to anything.

How do I switch accountants if my business is in Swansea?

You answer the questions on this page and we take it from there. We complete your ID checks and write to your current accountant for your records, so you do not have to make that call. HMRC and Companies House then authorise us as your agent. There is no separate charge for the handover.

What happens if HMRC writes to my business?

You send us the letter and we deal with HMRC for you. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, so an enquiry does not bring an extra bill from us. One client owed around £20,000 across Corporation Tax, VAT and Self Assessment; we went through every line, filed his return early and that part of the debt was cancelled with the interest written off.

Do I have to change my accounting software?

No. We work with the cloud software you already use and keep your records up to date in it. If you want to move to Xero we do the migration free. If your records are still in a spreadsheet or a carrier bag, say so on the check and we will tell you what we need.

Do you have an office in Swansea?

We are based at Titan House in Cardiff Bay and work with businesses across South Wales, Swansea included. Most work is done remotely, in person at Titan House, or a mix of the two. We know the Welsh rules, including the business rates reliefs that Welsh councils only give to businesses that apply.

Which small businesses do you work with?

Limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and CICs across South Wales, with shops, takeaways, serviced accommodation operators and grant-funded organisations among them. We are AAT licensed, licence number 1006407. We do not act for CIS construction subcontractors, charities, or businesses already late in an HMRC investigation, and we say so at first contact.
