Switching accountants takes one email from you and we do the rest
Switching accountants is the job most owners put off, usually because it sounds like a fortnight of digging out paperwork. In practice it is one email from you, and we handle everything after that.
The part people dread is telling their current accountant. You never have to. We send the professional clearance letter, collect your records and get authorised with HMRC as your agent. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client we act for.
In one lineSupreme Consultants is an AAT licensed accountancy practice in Cardiff Bay that moves businesses across South Wales from their current accountant. The handover, Companies House ID verification, the first month and the move to Xero cost nothing, fees are fixed and agreed before work starts, and tax investigation cover is included.
Check we’re the right fit
A few questions about your business. Mudassir replies the same working day.
Thank you Mud, your help and support with my VAT return is greatly appreciated. Always a prompt response and my difficult VAT return was quickly submitted and resolved. Would definitely recommend.
Is your current accountant doing the job? Three questions.
Three buttons, no email, and an answer at the end.
Question 1 of 3
Does your accountant reply the same working day?
Do you know your fee for this year will not change?
If HMRC wrote to you tomorrow, would they deal with it at no extra cost?
Three noes means you are paying for filing and getting nothing else. Start the check and we will tell you what moving would involve from your side.
Start the checkYou have some of it, and the missing piece is usually the one that costs money quietly. Start the check and we will look at that one thing with you.
Start the checkYou are well looked after and there is no reason to move today. Read the guides and keep us in mind if that changes.

Tax investigation cover at no extra cost
Every client we act for is covered, and we have won every HMRC investigation we have handled. When a letter arrives, we answer it.
A fee you know before we start
We agree a fixed fee in writing after the first chat. Calls, meetings and emails are never added to it, so you ask the small questions instead of sitting on them.
Your records collected without you chasing
We write to your current accountant, gather what they hold and set your bookkeeping up in Xero at no charge.
What owners tell us before they move
These are the three lines we hear most in a first call.
“I have not heard from my accountant since last year’s accounts went in and the VAT return is due Friday.”
That return went in late and the penalty landed before anyone looked at appealing it.
“Every time I ring with a quick question there is an invoice for it a month later.”
He stopped ringing, and the salary and dividend split stayed wrong for two years.
“Nobody has ever sat down and gone through my HMRC record with me.”
One Cardiff retailer was still paying full business rates through Covid because nobody had checked.
What changes once we take it on
You get a reply the same working day, every time. Your VAT, payroll, accounts, corporation tax and self assessment dates are diarised for the year ahead. If something needs longer than a day, we still come back that day with when you will have it.
Staying put compared with moving to us
Most accountants do the filing properly. The difference is what happens between filings.
Your current arrangement
You chase for an update
A ten minute call shows up on the invoice

A reply the same working day

Eight questions about where you are now
Answer these before you decide whether to move.
Has your accountant called you in the last six months?
If the only contact is a filing reminder, you are buying filing and nothing more.
Do you know what your fee covers?
A fixed fee agreed in writing answers that in one line.
Were you charged for your Companies House ID verification?
We did ours free for every existing client, and free for everyone who joins.
Are your receipts still going into a box?
We rebuild neglected records and bring overdue filings back up to date.
Has anyone reviewed your payments on account?
Set too high, they take cash out of the business every January and July.
Do you see numbers more than once a year?
Management accounts let you decide on a second shop before the year end rather than after it.
Has anyone checked your business rates relief?
Cardiff Council required an application, and plenty of Welsh retailers never made one.
Would your accountant answer an HMRC letter without a new invoice?
Ours is covered, and we have won every investigation we have handled.
- Professional clearance letter
- We contact your current accountant and ask for your records directly, so the handover is between the two firms.
- HMRC and Companies House authorisation
- We get appointed as your agent so we can see exactly what HMRC holds on you, and verify directors free where it is required.
- Free move to Xero
- If you want to change bookkeeping software we migrate you and set it up at no charge. If you are happy where you are, we leave it alone.
- A review of past returns
- This is where we find the missed reliefs, the payments on account set too high and the penalties worth appealing.
- Your year mapped out
- Every VAT, payroll, accounts and tax date diarised, so you are not the one chasing us.
What we did when Companies House changed the rules
Companies House brought in director ID verification and plenty of firms treated it as a new line on the invoice. We did it free for every existing client, and we do it free for everyone who switches to us.
Clients described by type. Names withheld.
- How it was found
- Other firms were charging a per director fee for a change their clients had not asked for.
- What happened
- Our clients were verified at no cost, and new clients joining us get the same.
Reviews from clients
Thank you Mud, your help and support with my VAT return is greatly appreciated. Always a prompt response and my difficult VAT return was quickly submitted and resolved. Would definitely recommend.
I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!
Friendly, nice 👌 , helpful and great all around
Difficult to describe as there are too many words that can be expressed for a wonderful accountant and their firm.
Definitely 🔝 and highly recommended in Wales 🏴 and throughout the UK for Accountancy and Tax Services

How switching to us works
Four stages, and the only one that needs your time is the first.
- Before you join
A free introductory chat
Book a time and tell us where things stand. We will be straight about whether we are the right fit, and if we cannot help we say so.
- Week one
We write to your accountant
We complete your ID checks, agree your fixed fee in writing and send the professional clearance letter so your records come straight to us. You never have that conversation.
- First month
Your HMRC record reviewed
We get authorised as your agent with HMRC and Companies House, and handle ID verification free where it is needed. Then we go through past accounts, returns and your HMRC record in detail.
- By ninety days
Deadlines mapped and a pay plan
VAT, payroll, accounts, corporation tax and self assessment are diarised for the year ahead. We also talk through salary against dividends so you keep as much as you can.
Who we are not right for
We do not take on CIS construction subcontractors.
We do not act for charities.
We do not take on businesses already late in an HMRC investigation.
If none of those describe you, start the check and we will tell you what moving looks like from your side.
Switching accountants: questions people ask
How much does switching accountants cost?
The move itself costs nothing. The handover with your current accountant is free, Companies House ID verification is free where it is needed, your first month with us is free, and migration to Xero is free. After that you pay one fixed monthly fee agreed in writing before any work starts, with no charge for calls, meetings or emails.
Do I have to tell my current accountant I am leaving?
No. We send a professional clearance letter and ask them to pass your records to us directly, which is the normal professional process between two firms. Most accountants deal with it without fuss. You only need to confirm to us that you want to go ahead, and we handle the rest of the correspondence.
What happens if HMRC writes to me after I switch?
You send it to us and we deal with it. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client we act for, so there is no separate add-on to buy and no extra invoice when a letter lands. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won. Bring us in early, because that is when we can change most.
Do I have to change my bookkeeping software?
No. If your current setup works we keep it. If you want to move to Xero we do the migration and the setup at no charge, including your chart of accounts, opening balances and bank feeds. We will tell you honestly in the first chat whether moving is worth your time or whether you should stay put.
Can I switch accountants in the middle of my financial year?
Yes. Most clients join us partway through a year and it makes no difference to the filings. We pick up from the last set of signed accounts or the last filed VAT return, get authorised with HMRC, and map the remaining deadlines for the year. There is no need to wait for a year end.
What if my records are behind or some are missing?
That is common and we rebuild them. We reconstruct neglected records, bring overdue filings up to date and sort out penalties where there is an appeal worth making. One thing to note: we do not take on one-off self assessment or capital gains returns, so this works best if you want the year looked after properly.
