CIC accountants in Port Talbot for CIC accounts and grant reports
CIC accountants Port Talbot directors call us for one thing first: the spend report a funder wants by Friday. We write it, file the CIC accounts and keep the bookkeeping behind it straight.
Most CIC boards are volunteers, and nobody has an evening spare to rebuild a budget in a spreadsheet. We have written grant reports for more than ten community interest companies. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client.
In one lineSupreme Consultants is an AAT licensed accountancy practice at Titan House in Cardiff Bay that prepares CIC accounts, the community interest report and funder spend reports for community interest companies in Port Talbot and across South Wales. Work is on a fixed fee agreed before it starts, with tax investigation cover included free.
Check we’re the right fit
A few questions about your business. Mudassir replies the same working day.
Thank you Mud, your help and support with my VAT return is greatly appreciated. Always a prompt response and my difficult VAT return was quickly submitted and resolved. Would definitely recommend.
Is your CIC in good hands? Three questions.
Answer with the buttons, no email needed.
Question 1 of 3
Does your accountant reply the same working day?
Do you know your fee for the year will not move?
If HMRC wrote to the CIC tomorrow, would they deal with it at no extra cost?
On all three counts you are carrying work and risk that your accountant should be carrying. Start the check and Mudassir will tell you what we would do differently.
Start the checkYou are in a reasonable position, and one of these is worth a conversation. Start the check and tell us which one bothers you most.
Start the checkYou are well served and there is no reason to move. Read the guides if you want a second view on grant reporting.

Tax investigation cover included free
If HMRC opens an enquiry we deal with it and you pay us nothing extra. Other firms sell this as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year.
The report your funder asked for
Quarterly and six-monthly spend, budget and forecast reports, written by us. You hand it over on the day it is due.
Accounts ready before the next bid
We prepare the CIC accounts and the community interest report early, so the figures are there when a grant deadline lands.
What CIC directors tell us when they ring
These are the three things we hear most from community interest companies in Port Talbot.
“Our funder wants a quarterly spend report and nobody here can produce it.”
The report goes in late or half finished. The next instalment of the grant sits on hold while the funder waits.
“We need the accounts early for the next grant deadline and they are nowhere near ready.”
The bid goes in without figures, or it does not go in at all.
“I am not sure our restricted grant income is shown correctly in the accounts.”
Restricted funds mixed in with trading income make the reserves look wrong to the people deciding your next grant.
What changes once we take it on
We map every deadline for the year: the CIC accounts, the community interest report and each funder report date. The bookkeeping is kept up to date in cloud software, so a spend report takes us hours rather than weeks. You ring us when a funder asks something and the call costs nothing.
How this compares with a general practice accountant
Plenty of good accountants file CIC accounts; fewer write what funders ask for.
A general practice accountant
Files the CIC accounts once a year.
Funder spend reports are your job or an extra invoice.
Calls and emails often go on the bill.
Investigation cover sold as an add-on.
With Supreme Consultants
CIC accounts and the community interest report, filed on time.
Quarterly and six-monthly funder reports written by us.
Calls, meetings and emails are never charged.
Tax investigation cover included free for every client.
Eight questions about how your CIC is reported on
Answer yes or no for each one and see where the gaps are.
Can you produce a spend report against budget this week?
If not, the next funder request will be late.
Is restricted grant income shown separately from trading income?
Funders read the reserves figure before they read anything else.
Is the community interest report written each year with the accounts?
It is filed at Companies House alongside the CIC34 accounts.
Are your books up to date in cloud software?
Reports built from a shoebox take weeks instead of hours.
Do you know the date of your next funder report?
We put every reporting date on one list for the year.
Will the accounts be ready before your next bid?
We prepare them early where a grant deadline needs them.
Does your accountant answer the phone without billing you?
Calls, meetings and emails are never charged here.
Would somebody deal with HMRC for you at no extra cost?
Tax investigation cover is included free for every client.

I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

Who we are not right for

We cannot pick up a business already late in an HMRC investigation.
If none of those describe you, start the check and Mudassir will reply the same working day.
CIC accountants Port Talbot: questions people ask
What does a CIC accountant in Port Talbot cost?
You get a fixed fee agreed in writing before any work starts, covering what your CIC actually needs: bookkeeping, the annual CIC accounts, the community interest report and the funder reports. Calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top. We do not publish prices for CIC work because the reporting a funder asks for differs in every case.
How do we switch from our current accountant?
You answer the questions on this page and we reply the same working day. If we are a fit, we complete the ID checks and write to your current accountant for the records, so no director has to make that call. HMRC and Companies House authorise us as your agent. The first month is free.
What happens if HMRC writes to our CIC?
You send us the letter and we deal with HMRC for you. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, where other firms sell it as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won. We cannot take on a case that is already late in an investigation.
Do we have to change our accounting software?
No. We work with the cloud software you already use. If you want to move to Xero we do the migration free, and we will say plainly whether the move is worth doing. What matters is that the records are current enough to build a funder spend report from.
Do you work with Port Talbot CICs in person or remotely?
Both. We are based at Titan House in Cardiff Bay, about forty minutes along the M4 from Port Talbot. Most work is done remotely, with meetings at Titan House or on a call when a board wants to sit down together. Over ninety per cent of our clients are in South Wales.
Can you write the reports our funder asks for?
Yes. We write quarterly and six-monthly spend, budget and forecast reports for more than ten community interest companies. We work from the funder’s own template where there is one. We also have the annual accounts ready early when a grant deadline needs figures, and can introduce you to a fundraising consultant.
