CIC accountants in Swansea who file your accounts and write the funder reports
CIC accountants Swansea directors call us about one thing first, which is the quarterly spend report a funder wants by Friday and nobody in the office can produce.
Most CIC boards do not need advice once a year. They need the accounts ready before the next bid and the community interest report filed on time. The fee is agreed in writing before we start, and tax investigation cover is included free for every client.
In one lineSupreme Consultants is an AAT licensed accountancy practice in Cardiff Bay that acts for community interest companies in Swansea and across South Wales. It prepares CIC accounts, the community interest report and quarterly and six-monthly funder reports on a fixed fee agreed in writing, with tax investigation cover included free.
Check we’re the right fit
A few questions about your business. Mudassir replies the same working day.
Thank you Mud, your help and support with my VAT return is greatly appreciated. Always a prompt response and my difficult VAT return was quickly submitted and resolved. Would definitely recommend.
Is your CIC in good hands? Three questions.
Answer by button, no email needed.
Question 1 of 3
Does your accountant reply the same working day?
Do you know your fee for the year will not change?
If a funder asked for a spend report this week, would your accountant write it?
No yeses means your CIC is running on hope between filings. Start the check and Mudassir will come back the same working day.
Start the checkOne or two yeses is a reasonable position to be in. The gap is usually the funder reporting, and that is worth a conversation.
Start the checkThree yeses and you are well served where you are. Read the guides if you want to prepare for the next bid.

Tax investigation cover included free
If HMRC opens an enquiry we deal with it and you pay us nothing extra. Other firms sell this as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year.
The funder report on the day they ask
We write the quarterly and six-monthly spend, budget and forecast reports from your records. We do this for more than ten CICs already.
Accounts ready before the next bid
We finish the year-end accounts and the community interest report ahead of your grant deadline, so the bid goes in with real figures.
What CIC directors in Swansea tell us
These are the three things we hear most often on a first call.
Our funder wants a quarterly spend report by Friday and nobody here can produce it.
The report gets built in a spreadsheet at midnight and the figures do not match the accounts.
We need the accounts early for the next grant deadline and our accountant has gone quiet.
The bid goes in with last year’s numbers, which is the kind of thing funders come back on.
I am not sure our restricted grant income is shown correctly in our accounts.
Restricted funds recorded wrongly are the first thing a funder queries, and it takes weeks to unpick.
What changes once we take it on
We keep the bookkeeping, so the spend figures come out of the records rather than a spreadsheet nobody owns. The accounts and the community interest report are done before your next bid. You ring us when a funder asks for something and it costs nothing.
How we work compared with the usual once-a-year arrangement
Plenty of accountants file CIC accounts properly; the difference shows up between filings.
An accountant who files once a year
Accounts prepared after the year end, close to the deadline.
Grant reports are left to a volunteer and a spreadsheet.
A ten-minute call about the CIC34 lands on the next invoice.
Investigation cover sold as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year.
With Supreme Consultants
Accounts and the community interest report finished ahead of your next grant deadline.
We write the quarterly and six-monthly spend, budget and forecast reports.
Calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top.
Tax investigation cover is included free for every client.
Eight questions about how your CIC is run
Answer these for your own organisation before you speak to anybody.
Do you know the date your community interest report is due?
If nobody can say it, that is the first thing we map.
Could you produce a quarterly spend report against budget today?
Funders ask on short notice and expect figures that match the accounts.
Is restricted grant income shown separately in your records?
Mixed funds are the thing funders query first.
Does your accountant reply the same working day?
We do, and if the answer needs longer we come back that day to say when.
Were last year’s accounts ready before your next bid went in?
Late accounts cost bids, so we finish them early.
Do you get an invoice for a ten-minute phone call?
Calls, meetings and emails are never charged here.
If HMRC wrote tomorrow, would someone handle it at no extra cost?
Tax investigation cover is included free for every client.
Is your bookkeeping in cloud software the directors can see?
We keep records in the cloud, with a free move to Xero if you want to switch.

Reviews from clients
Thank you Mud, your help and support with my VAT return is greatly appreciated. Always a prompt response and my difficult VAT return was quickly submitted and resolved. Would definitely recommend.
I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!
Friendly, nice 👌 , helpful and great all around
Difficult to describe as there are too many words that can be expressed for a wonderful accountant and their firm.
Definitely 🔝 and highly recommended in Wales 🏴 and throughout the UK for Accountancy and Tax Services

Getting started
Four stages, from the first answer to a reporting year that runs to time.
- Before you join
Your fixed fee agreed
You answer a few questions on the site. Mudassir reads them and replies the same working day, and we agree the fee in writing before any work starts.
- Week one
Records moved across
We complete your ID checks and write to your current accountant for the records. HMRC and Companies House authorise us as your agent.
- First month
Every deadline mapped
We go through past accounts, returns and HMRC records. We map the community interest report date, the accounts date and your funder report dates.
- By ninety days
Reporting running to time
We sit down with the directors on bookkeeping and on how restricted funds are recorded. You know what is coming and who to call.
Who we are not right for
We do not work with CIS construction subcontractors.
Charity accounts are outside what we do, though CIC accounts are our main specialism.
We cannot take on an organisation already late in an HMRC investigation.
If your CIC is trading and filing, answer the three questions and we will tell you straight.
CIC accountants Swansea: questions people ask
How much do CIC accountants in Swansea charge?
We agree a fixed fee in writing before any work starts, based on what your CIC actually needs: the accounts, the community interest report, bookkeeping, payroll and the funder reports. We do not publish prices for CIC work because the reporting load varies so much. Calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top.
Can we switch to you from our current accountant?
Yes, and you do not have to make the call. We write to your current accountant for the records, complete your ID checks and get authorised as your agent with HMRC and Companies House. The handover carries no separate charge, and there is a free first month. If you want to move to Xero, that move is free too.
What happens if HMRC writes to our CIC?
Send us the letter and we deal with HMRC for you. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, where other firms sell it as an add-on for £300 to £1,000 a year. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won. We cannot take on an organisation that is already late in an investigation.
Do we have to change accounting software?
No. We work with the cloud software you already use and keep the records up to date in it. If you would rather move to Xero, we do the migration free for clients. The point is that the directors can see the figures, and that the funder reports come straight out of the bookkeeping.
Do you file the CIC34 community interest report?
Yes. The community interest report goes to Companies House alongside the annual accounts, and we prepare and file both. We write it from what the CIC actually did that year, including the community benefit and any payments to directors, so it reads consistently with the accounts and with what your funders have been told.
Do CIC accountants in Swansea have to meet you in person?
No. We are based at Titan House in Cardiff Bay and most work is done remotely, by phone, email and video, with your records in cloud software. You are welcome to come to the office if you prefer, and we do travel. Over 90 per cent of our clients are in South Wales.
